This is Brady's Story...
This site has been created in hopes for prayers. Prayers for Brady and other animals like Brady that have touched our lives so very much! If you are a parent of a 4-legged child, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Thank you! ♥
Brady came home 1/23/10. In a little striped sock, he purred and head bonked his way right into my heart, very quickly! He was curious, loving and oh so talkative! You would swear he was a Siamese cat with the amount of meowing he did and his purr was, and still is, the loudest purr I have ever had the pleasure to witness! Brady fit right with our family! Even the all spoiled and mighty Kaci let him nuzzle into her heart! Perhaps not as quickly as the rest of us did, but she allowed it just the same. Everything seemed "purrfect" & Brady seemed healthy. He has always had runny eyes/nose and seemed congested a lot, but the several vets we had seen just chalked it up to allergies. Until August. On 8/27/11 we took Brady and Kaci in for a routine check up and vaccinations. The vet heard a heart murmur and wanted to schedule an echo-cardiogram right away. Several things were running through my mind now... Why hasn't a murmur been heard before? How bad is it? What does this mean for Brady? What am I going to do? Where were we going to come up with the money? We decided to start saving and have the test done in October, but nothing works out according to plan does it?
On 9/21/11 I got home from work around 6:30 or so. I was exhausted after a long 12 hour day! I changed into my pj's and had just settled down on the couch with a snack, the remote and the kitties when I looked over to see Brady limping, or at least it looked like he was limping.. It went from one leg to the other... What was happening to my baby? I was talking to him as he was walking over to me, and as he made it to the couch, I could tell something was seriously wrong... It looked as though his body was stiffening and kinking up and he was going to fall! I immediately grabbed him as his body was stiffening into painful looking positions. His little eyes were huge and I could tell that he was terrified! I couldn't do anything but pray, and I did so... a lot! I had to keep it together, I couldn't add more terror or stress to what he was already going through! Keep it together, just keep it together! A few moments later, Brady's body started to relax again and he eventually seemed to be back to normal. That's when I completely broke down... What had I just witnessed, a seizure? Was this related to the murmur? What should I do? The next morning, before I even had a shower, we were on our way to another vet for a second opinion and explanation. The news wasn't what I wanted to hear... Brady does have a heart murmur and, like the previous vet recorded but didn't have the heart to tell us, it had been graded a 4 out of a possible 6. How can this be? He had been seen by several vets before and not one vet said anything about a murmur... Now you're telling me that it's THIS bad? He's only 2 years old!!
Now to the point... Brady needs a lot of testing and medication. But he REALLY needs your PRAYERS too! If you could take the time to pass this along I would truly appreciate it! I have no children of my own, and am unable to ever have children... My Sphynx babies ARE my children and I'm feeling very helpless right now. I'll also be trying to come up with ways to raise money as well so if you have any ideas, I'm all ears! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, share this and thank you more than anything for your prayers!
